ÉMILE-JACQUES RUHLMANN (1879 – 1933)

‘Cappiello’ armchair in red coral ‘Duco’ lacquer. Upholstered in a chiseled velvet fabric with a satin background, reproduced from the original velvet design by Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, from the Prelle Manufacture archives. This armchair was part of a 1930 commission to Ruhlmann for a seating project designed by the artist and decorator Leonetto Cappiello, featuring

panels with a pheasant motif. The original tapestry was woven in 1931 by the Manufacture de Beauvais.
