ÉMILE-JACQUES RUHLMANN (1879 – 1933)
Rare guéridon table, model ‘Élégant’ designed by Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, produced in his workshop by master cabinetmaker Maurice Pré (1907–1988). A former student of the École Boulle, which he completed in 1924, Pré joined Ruhlmann’s atelier shortly thereafter and remained there until Ruhlmann’s death in 1933. This precious table features an oak structure veneered in santos rosewood, with a circular radiating top edged with a finely carved molded band. The faceted central column gives rise to three elegantly tapered legs, terminating in gilt bronze sabots.
