
ÉMILE-JACQUES RUHLMANN (1879 – 1933)
Unique 'Pagonau' model chest of drawers. Modernist variant of the Van Beuningen model with a quadrangular case in mahogany veneer. Opening at the front with three hinged drop-front panels revealing an interior composed of sliding drawers in Hungarian oak. It rests on a recessed base with projecting flat plinth, fitted with a wide drawer with silvered bronze pull. Handles and pulls in silvered bronze.
Stamped on the back with the hot iron stamp “Ruhlmann”, and the
circular workshop mark from the ‘Atelier B’, dated 1933.
