
ÉMILE-JACQUES RUHLMANN (1879 – 1933)
'Morel' mahogany dressing table. On each side, two open compartments are designed to hold removable containers. At the front of the entablature, a slim rectangular drawer is macassar veneer and fitted with a silvered bronze ball-shaped finial. The top is surmounted by a round, swiveling bevelled mirror encircled with silvered bronze and mounted on a lyre-shaped support with silvered bronze fluted toothed wheels. The dressing table stands on four tall legs finished with silvered bronze ferrules. An initial sketch of the piece exists.
