ÉMILE-JACQUES RUHLMANN (1879 – 1933)

 

Rare 'Petit Hydravion' armchair upholstered in red velvet fabric, with deep seating and a reclining backrest.  The armchair rests on two gilt carved wood front legs ending in volutes, and two back saber legs in ebonized wood terminating in bronze sabots.

A model designed in circa 1917 , featured in Ruhlmann’s sketch album introduced by Léon Moussina.

Period: Circa 1925

Material: Gilt beechwood, ebonized wood, bronze, velvet fabric.
