ALFRED PORTENEUVE (1886-1949)
Rare cabinet in Burr walnut veneer on an oak frame, featuring two full front doors entirely clad in Havana leather. It rests on two small columns above a rectangular base fitted with two drawers. The piece is adorned with gilt bronze pull handles.
A striking blue turquoise enameled ceramic escutcheon plate, crafted by the French ceramist Jean Mayodon (1893-1967), depicts a fantastical creature set against an aquatic vegetal background, adding a unique and highly decorative element to the composition.
